Equipment needed to run Variable Rate Prescription
Maps may vary by Vendor. VRTrx is not responsible for putting together your equipment needs. VRTrx
provides the Planting Prescriptions and Reports/Maps that corresponds with your
equipment.
Rule #1: Your planter has to be Variable Rate Ready. It
all Starts/Ends here! Your planter must be set up to do variable rate. If you
are not set up and are interested in doing so, research the information below or
contact your local equipment dealer. They will help you get setup with whatever component(s) that you may need.
Rule #2: Monitor/Display that handles a
prescription map via either a data card (PCMCIA, CF and SD are most popular), or
by USB jump drive to copy to a hard drive
Rule #3: GPS Capability. If you don't have
accurate enough GPS, such as RTK or Satellite subscriptions, it might not be in
your best interest to use variable rate planting technology. WAAS/EGNOS Signal can be used for planting, but
results may vary and accuracy is questionable
